Okay, here’s the scoop.   Both middle schools are doing rather well.   The films are coming along although both schools have the longest scripts that we’ve ever had.    Make sure you continue to bring the same clothes were wearing until we finish the films.   

While working on these we are going to start the planning process for something new.    I’m thinking maybe an ongoing process of creating some content for the schools to use on an ongoing basis.   Kinda like a monthly thing that students can look forward to and include relevant stuff that would be useful to the school.    Just a thought.    I will be talking to the students about it at the next meeting.

We’ve started filming at both middle schools!    Remember that students have to look the same during the filming so make sure you bring those clothes (or wear them) the days we meet.  Pictures are posted on the website if you forgot what you were wearing.   Also, no haircuts!    Just for a couple more weeks!     If we can focus and get it done then we can finish filming the first film soon.  

RMS students, remember we are meeting next MONDAY to film the sequence with the teacher.    Let me know soon if there is a scheduling problem.

I think the hardest part of production days are students have to be *extremely* quiet.   (Which is hard for some)   See you next meeting!

I’ve updated the script for RMS after our script walkthrough today.   Make sure you go to the website and print it out.   We found a few issues with it as we were going through it.    Those of you who weren’t there, be sure ask questions if something doesn’t look right.   We really want to start filming next tuesday!

RMS:  We’ve decided on what our story is about and even determined what teachers we want to have in the film.   The students were charged with talking to the teachers to see if they would participate.    In the past, it hasn’t been easy getting teachers to spend time with us, but we have a couple that will help all the time.   Our story revolves around peer pressure and three students get caught and put in ISS!   They each tell their stories on how they were caught.    The catch is a spooky  surprise!   Can’t wait to see how it turns out.    Will continue working on the script and assigning acting roles the week of 9/29/08.

DCMS: The script is done and we walked through it twice during the club meeting.    Everyone knows their roles and was given a script to take home.   We won’t meet the week of 9/29 because of early release, so we start filming the next week!    I’ll post the script online in case someone lost theirs!

This week has been a pretty good week for planning our first films at both RMS and DCMS.    I have 3 more students at RMS so we’re up to 6 there.   At DCMS after two weeks we average about 14 students.    Everything is looking good to get started filming.    

At RMS we decided on a film on Peer Pressure.    The challenge is that the students wanted a little thrill to it so we are going to be challenged with a different style of “creepy” without getting “cheezy”.  :)    We’ll see how it goes.

At DCMS were are focused on Honesty.     Taking a different approach we’re trying to accomplish a little bit of detective mystery to the plan.    We have a story line and even a list of characters so we’ll be working on the script this week and possibly filming next week!  

If there is anyone that wants to join the club they can just show up!

I figured some things out with the new middle school opening up.    If we don’t put up a poster about the club in the school, noone knows what’s going on.    I put one up in DCMS and ended up with 18 students showing up to the first club meeting.     No poster at RMS, 3 students.    So I went back and put one up at RMS.   We’ll see how we do on week 2.     I’m looking for movie ideas that won’t be so difficult to write a script around.     Doing DSF in multiple schools will be challenging, but we’ll make it work!
